IS, Validation, Causal OOS, and Final Lockbox stay separated. Rolling/expanding validation, purging, embargo conditioned on the design, CPCV, causal walk-forward, untouched final evidence.

Point-in-time: U_t = f(X_≤t). Survivorship, current-constituent backfill, future liquidity, corporate actions, delistings, stale observations.
